That's why my steam name is Piss-And-Arrows
But sometimes you prefer the rifle, depends on the situation: If you're safer attacking from afar, go for Rifle + Razorback + Tribalman's Shiv, otherwise Huntsman + Jarate + Bushwacka works well.
So far I've gotten very use to using the Machina. I just love that weapon so much now than the Huntsman. (I need to find a stamp of the Machina. XD)
The SMG makes up for the Machina's need to be scoped in to fire, the melee depends on how you want to deal with enemies way too close: The Tribalman's Shiv is great for when you want to cause some damage and run away to safety at the same time, while the Shahansha is great for when you want to fight back.
The only problems is that the Machina is refered to as a noob wep, it leaves a team-colored trail, and when piercing trough enemies, the sound can call lot of attention for nearby enemies.
Still, i use the FaN and no one called me a noob...
My best combo imo is Machina + Jarate + Shahansha. I know that Jarate won't help much, but I do like to be unique with some combos.
I have used the Machina several times and I have never been called a noob. Must be one of those things that happens. XDD
Go for the classic combo of Jarate + Bushwacka in this case, as a critical strike from the Bushwacka can repel even Pyroes.
Yeah, but i guess the FaN is "less nooby", as the FaN makes direct combat easier for Scouts as you can send enemies away and score heavy damage with it when very close while still being somewhat hard to use, while Machina eliminates the need for scoring headshots, making it better suited for those with poor aim...
